more pics from76&77...the car was bob haro's...never thought of the bonnet before reminds me of the days with 7 bikes &7 riders in the back of my escort van....could this be the 1st turndown, better not publish this pic, the fashion riders would not like the fact their doing an old skool trick!

  1. It looks more like a lookback to me, and I dont think the turndown was "invented" till the late 80s (on vert), even though people had been doing "goofy" (or "switch footed", or maybe "wrong way") lookbacks for ages and thats the same as a turn down really. We had 3 bikes on the bonnet of a beetle and got stopped by police. We had to take the bikes apart and cram them on the back seats.

  2. I just like the "how to silk screen a racing jersey" bit!

And I reckon the fashion kids would be stoked that something they were doing was "old skool" or whatever, no doubt they'd also bitch about how the guys legs aren't locked and that his seat's too high.

That frame looks mighty short too. Blah blah blah

  3. What I remember the most about the old issues of the magazines when I was a whipper-snapper was how awe struck we were with each release of a magazine, especially BMX Action & Plus. It was like these people where living a dream! how impressionable were we!?!?

Amazing how cynical I've become now, I just find loads of things to complain about with each new issue!

    bah humbug...
