I hear that, probably never see these on my "to buy" list. Reminds me though, was looking in flatmates (gay)mountainbike uk thing while I was taking a dump, those goons have like forks for £500+, £150 pedals are pretty common, and seem a bit backwards in that they're making frames with our sized bottom brackets, when we're trying to get away from them. And forks with 14mm dropouts, which I don't much see the point of, no need for 14mm on the front I don't reckon. And all their photos f "super high turndown"s are prety shite, plenty of photos of guys landing or taking off, and the "super high" in question was about 3ft out of a dirt bowl....rant rant rant
If a fork has suspension, the legs aren't fixed at the top and are almost free to flap about independently. Having a good size fixing at the hub can help to stiffen up the whole fork assy and stop the wheel (and fork legs) from tipping about under the steer tube. Im not gay or out but I think thats why MTBs like 14mm front axles. I cant say why they need suspension, they should just use a BMX and get on with it (ha ha).
I run a 14mm front & rear axle & don't see a problem with it, I had soo many bent 10mm axles back in the day so from experience decided to go the 14 route... each to his (or her) own I suppose - as with your prefered sexuality!
With regards to MTB's, they will always be in the shadow of BMX - imho :-)
& to get back on topic, I can vouch for Ray's pedal (world record?) breaking & would agree - go get 'em dude! Think I will get those Attila pedals for £19...
The forks I saw were rigid with the 14mm axles slots. Ahh well, like e said, each to their own, and yep, if I've said it once I've said it a thousand times(maybe) mountain bikes seriously need to get off the dick. Way to contradict yourself in one sentence eh?
I'm stoked on attilla, possibly because like 1% of them has any brakes. Still reckon Jim C knows his shit about pedals, probably get another set once this one goes.
Ray goes through pedals like I go through spokes? Oh yea, what's the deal with that rim dude? Post it post it post it!
My love of bikes goes way back, as with most folks I started to ride as soon as my lil legs could pedal & I haven't really stopped since. From little kids bikes to BMX to MTB's & road bikes, I've owned & loved them all.
Love the tech side of bicycles & always have to take things apart to see how they work & try & make them better. Made some great friends through bikes & look forward to meeting some more…
Don't know if I can justify spending upwards of £50 on a pair of peds... nice tho - cheers Ray
